Peña Cultural Flamenca Torres Macarena is in the city of the Giralda – Seville. It was founded in 1974 by a group of friends who shared the same passion – flamenco. Other artists started joining, such as Pies Plomo, José de la Tomasa, José Domínguez "El Cabrero", "El Chocolate", Manuel Oliver, Pedro Bacán, El Chozas.
The association was named after Calle Torres, in the neighbourhood of La Macarena, which is where the first headquarters were.
It was established as an official association and gradually it became a flamenco hub thanks to the first shows and its activity in Seville's cultural scene.
