Strolling through Cadiz during Carnival!

Talking about Cadiz, we could say it is light. Wonderful places covered with rock made from oyster shell sediments. Sunsets that are difficult to forget. The birthplace of wit, of humour and joy. Cadiz is strolls along La Caleta and its breakwater. Cadiz… with Cadiz, we could spend the morning coining adjectives and comparisons for it, but we wanted to visit it in February, where the festivity, music and singing of the Carnival bands flood every alley of the city with sound, colour and joy, if any more can fit.

Strolling around Cadiz during Carnival is spectacular.

In every corner, little alley or square, there are improvised performances where the Carnival bands: chirigotas, comparsas, quartets and choirs, hold their own with words full of wit, rhymes loaded with humour and pasodobles worthy of the best poets.

The whole of Cadiz flings itself into its carnival and it is definitely the perfect time to put what Cadiz is famous forto the test: the personality and flair of its people.

Make sure not to forget your costume! Every step you take, you will see creativity on all sides with 'tipos' as the Cadiz disguises are known that are real marvels of dressmaking…
