Fieldwork Riotinto presents its tourist attractions to promote the area around this unique landscape
Riotinto mines are a unique setting now open to visitors through the company Fieldwork Riotinto, which is promoting a tourist initiative to add value to the whole area of influence of this historic place built by the British. Routes of all kinds, hiking and educational activities are some of the ideas by this young company, which presented all of its range at the stand for the province at FITUR.
Through the tours proposed by this initiative, as well as educational activities, daily routes and hiking trails, the traveller can discover unusual places like Río Tinto, research centre for scientists from all over the world like NASA; enjoy the mines in the open air; stroll around Colonial town planning that, starting with the Presbyterian Chapel in the English neighbourhood of Bella Vista, will transport you to another time; follow the tracks of old lost villages which will help you understand the past; visit the dolmens of El Pozuelo and the Chiflón mine to understand where and how everything began; discover the British Huelva that was the origin of modern-day Huelva and visit the places where the king of sports was born, making Minas de Riotinto the cradle of Spanish football.
Also, the company allows the visitor to create his or her own ideal route, thus encouraging experimental tourism. To do this, there is a questionnaire on its website, http://fieldworkriotinto.es/, to help design the route.
