The most magical place in Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche is the Peña de Arias Montano rock, in the town of Alájar, Huelva.

A local pilgrimage in honour of the "Queen of the Angels" takes place here every year in September. Centuries ago, humanist and adviser to King Philip II, Benito Arias Montano, retired to this place, unusual for someone of his rank, as he believed in its telluric force.

Springs flow from Peña de Arias Montano and the view of the mountains is stunning.
