The Town Hall belonging to the Town Council of Alfarnate is the oldest in the province of Málaga of all those that are still being used.

It dates back to the end of the 16th century, although it has been refurbished several times. It has had many uses throughout history. It started out as a granary for storing wheat which is why the structure includes vaults to support loads.

The Town Hall is in Mudéjar style and consists of two floors: the ground floor is accessed from the street through a portico adorned by three semi-circular arches crowned by a cross vault inside the building. The exterior is finished of with forged ironwork. The upper floor also consists of three semi-circular arches, but they are narrower and have railings enclosing a balcony that covers practically the entire floor. The décor is a blend of brick keystones that make up the arches, the corners of the façade and the sides, and the whitewash on the rest of the building.

Monday 8.30am to 2.30pm and 4.30pm to 8.30pm. Tuesday to Friday 8.30am to 2.30pm.
