The convent belongs to the Order of Carmelite Mothers of the Old Observance and it was not completed until 1580.

The exterior of the building is very restrained in style, the highlight being the highly elaborate Mannerist façade that overlooks Calle de los Tintes.

The convent interior follows the model of the Moorish churches of Granada and comprises a single box nave and a main chapel atop a flight of stairs, both areas being covered by Mudejar coffering.

The church´s somewhat rudimentary altarpieces are no longer present, with the exception of some remains of the San Elías altarpiece.

Monday to Friday: 8.00am Saturday: 19.00pm Sundays and public holidays: 9.00am

Free entrance.
