The Reina Sofía Cultural Centre is the old Military Government. It houses the Vasallo Museum, the Spanish-American Royal Academy, the Cadiz Cultural Association, the Military Library, the Federico Joly Foundation, the Galván print workshop, the Municipal Foundation for Culture and the Legacy of the Aramburu Family exhibition. It was built between 1758 and 1759 and is a real gem of its time.

The Reina Sofía Cultural Centre was opened by H.M the Queen Sofía in October 2006 and is most famous for the works by Juan Luis Vasallo, one of the best Spanish sculptors of the 20th century.
