Dedicated to the Virgin of Los Milagros, patron saint of El Puerto de Santa María, La Basilica Menor nuestra Sra. de los Milagros church owes its name to the former priory of the Diocese of Seville.

As with the majority of the buildings in the area and the Seville Cathedral, the church is built with sandstone from the quarries of the Sierra de San Cristóbal mountains, which was used in many Portuensi buildings. Building has been documented since 1486.

Being the most primitive Gothic construction, the Iglesia Mayor Prioral church has three naves covered with ribbed vaults - the central nave is higher and wider than the side naves- plus two chapels. Moreover, it has a pentagonal apse.

Outstanding features include the doors of Forgiveness and Sun, as well as several of its chapels: Sagrario, Benavides, and Las Ánimas, San José, Santo Entierro, Jesús Nazareno and the Virgen de los Milagros.

Free. Monday and Friday: Entrance/Donation 1 €.

Check visiting hours at the Tourist office of El Puerto de Santa María. Groups consult availability. Please respect the schedule of worship.
