Included in the historical network of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, in the former Convent of La Victoria (Convento de los Mínimos), the Mythological Cadiz Interpretation Centre aims to show the world the importance of mythological roots in the geographic, historical and social development of the province of Cadiz.

A centre with an open character and overall projection, with a didactic, modern and innovative museography.

The thematic areas of the visitor centre are: Sacred Territory, The Kingdom of Tartessos, The Mother Goddess and The Temple of Hercules.

In 1619, construction of the Convento de la Victoria, for the friars of the Order of Minims of San Francisco de Paula, was completed. The carving of the vault of the convent church was carried out in about 1627 by the Sevilian sculptor Gaspar Ginés, placing a relief of the Virgen de la Victoria at its centre. In the 18th century the Main Altarpiece was completed. Subsequently, during the Peninsular War, it served as accommodation for the French troops and both the church and the convent suffered considerable damage, the ironwork was ripped to be used as artillery pieces. In 1991 restoration of the church began to convert it into the Centro Cultural La Victoria and the convent cloister was refurbished for dwellings.
