The Capilla de la Carretería is currently the canonical headquarters of the Hermandad de la Carretería brotherhood, in the Calle Real de la Carretería in the Arenal neighbourhood. It has a rectangular floor plan and the nave is very small.

The plot of land where it is built used to house an old storehouse belonging to the canonry. Construction began in 1753 and the architect was Juan Núñez. The cost of buying the land and building the chapel was shared between the brotherhood and the coopers' guild. The chapel was consecrated on 15 August 1761.

The Neoclassical 19th-century main altarpiece has images of the Crucificado de la Salud, attributed to Francisco de Ocampo, from the 17th century, the Virgen de la Luz Dolorosa and San Juan Evangelista, both from the 17th century.

In a chapel separated by an arch you will find the altarpiece of the Virgen del Mayor Dolor en su Soledad, an image dating from the 17th century and the property of the brotherhood.

This brotherhood celebrates its Procession of Penitence on Good Friday in the afternoon,

(Unless the chapel needs to be prepared) Monday to Friday, except public holidays, from 6pm to 8pm. During the months of June to September, both inclusive, from 7pm to 9pm. In July and August it does not open. Mass: Fridays at 8.30pm, except in July and August. Saturdays at 8pm, in June to September, both inclusive, at 8.30pm. Sundays and public holidays at 11am.
