Horse-riding route along the Doñana beaches at dusk

Horse-riding route along the Doñana beaches at dusk

Doñana and its 60 kilometres of virgin beaches and a horseback ride along the shore under a sunset straight out of a movie

Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful and intimate experiences that can be enjoyed in the Doñana National Park is horse riding on an amazing horse along the kilometres of the Doñana Park beaches. A unique experience that you can have on the Cuesta Maneli and Pico del Loro beaches, combined with an enjoyable stroll along its warm and clean sand; a truly film like ending to the day.

There are many entrances to the park's beaches and most visitors go to the somewhat overcrowded beaches of Matalascañas, perhaps attracted by the variety of hotels and restaurants, although you mustn't overlook one of the most beautiful entrances, which is without a doubt the famous Cuesta Maneli beach access, which can be found after walking the 1.2 kilometre route that runs between pine trees and small bushes, until reaching the highest lookout points of the park's beaches.

112 metres above sea level gives a marvellous panoramic view over part of the 60 kilometres of unspoilt sand that characterises Doñana.

But if walking through Doñana is a privilege, riding through it on horseback is even more so.

Next to the A-494 road, which connects Mazagón and Matalascañas, there are a series of riding schools where you can book horseback rides through Doñana for all levels.

The routes begin through pine woods, small scrublands and after 2 kilometres of trails, you will reach the beach where you can experience the best part of the day: trotting along the shore.

Imagine the extraordinary sensation of being able to ride through the water, with the sea breeze in your face and at the rhythm of this amazing animal.

It's moments like these that make people fall in love with these animals.

I would dare say that riding through these parts is one of the best things you can do in Andalusia.

A wonderful experience that we definitely recommend and which is one of the must-do attractions in the province of Huelva and of course in the Doñana National Park.

A film-like ending

Going to any of the Doñana beaches and leaving without seeing a sunset is like going to the cinema and leaving 10 minutes before the ending. There, in unique surroundings, without any buildings or anything that ruins the landscape, the sun presents visitors with sunsets like this one.

A moment where you can feel free, where you just let time pass by and enjoy one of the most beautiful spectacles of nature.

A place where the sky seems to burn under the golden cloak of the Atlantic and the fine sand of Doñana. A postcard memory.
