Excursión a Córdoba y la Mezquita desde Sevilla

The city of Cordoba, lying on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, was the capital of the Betica province during the Roman Empire and the Caliphate of Cordoba.

Many architectural wonders have been left in the city of Cordoba over the centuries, such as the Mosque-Cathedral, the Roman Bridge and the old Jewish quarter, to name a few.

Starting from Seville, the Naturanda guide will pick you up at one of the meeting points to head to Carmona, a whitewashed town located just half an hour from the city and that is worth a short stop to discover its beauty. After this short guided walk we will head to Cordoba, where we will arrive after approximately one hour.

When we arrive at our main destination, we will go on a guided tour on foot through the historic centre of the city, visiting important spots. We will walk along the city's most iconic streets: cross the Roman bridge to the old Jewish quarter, the Royal Stables and the Cordoba Synagogue (closed on Mondays).

We will also go on a short walk through the famous and colourful patios, where we will get the chance to take amazing photos, which will be one of the most beautiful mementos of this trip to Cordoba. After discovering the historic centre of Cordoba, we will make a short stop on our tour to enjoy Cordoba's cuisine, following the recommendations of our guide, or you can have your own food or picnic if you wish.

You will also be able to enjoy free time if you want to do some shopping. After lunch, and to round off our day, we will visit the beautiful Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. You will have enough time to explore calmly this wonderful architectural monument, which was originally built for Muslim worship.  It is one of the main gems of Andalusia's historic and architectural heritage.

After our visit to the Mosque of Cordoba, we will return to the meeting point and travel back to Seville.
