Village belonging to Barbate (also a part belongs to Tarifa, Urb. Atlanterra). They were segregated from Vejer de la Frontera in 1938.

Since ancient times it is the most important core of the coast of Cadiz in the tuna with the art of the traps, hence its name.

Located between Barbate and the ruins of Baelo Claudia (municipality of Tarifa), now it is becoming a very interesting tourist destination thanks to its splendid beach.
