Jerez arrives at Fitur at full throttle. The city has today presented its appointment as World Capital of Motorcycling, an event to be held in the city over the next three years, as announced by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM). The city will be the venue for eight international motorcycling events in 2015, the Superbike World Championship, (29 March), Enduro (9-10 May), Freestyle (23 May) and Trial (12-13 September), as well as the Spanish Grand Prix (2-3 May), World GP Bike Legend (19-21 June), the Superbike World Cup (20 September) and the FIM CEV Repsol International Championship (31 October-1 November), which will be held at the Jerez Circuit.
The scheduled events to mark the city's appointment as World Capital of Motorcycling include a Walk of Fame, located on Avenida Alcalde Álvaro Domecq and recently opened by Spanish rider Ángel Nieto, through which Jerez will pay tribute to today's top riders and great motorcycle legends of the past, and Nations Walk, at Jardín Escénico gardens, where there will be models of those circuits that are to be twin partners of Jerez's.
There will also be concerts held in Jerez in 2015, two World Summits focused on Environmental Sustainability and Women in Motorcycling, as well as symposiums on Seniors and Motorcycling, Leadership and Motorcycling, and Sports Medicine.
