The Condado de Huelva wine tradition is widely known throughout the national and Andalusian territory, making the region of Huelva an essential visit for lovers of good wines.

Since ancient times, the lands bathed by the Gulf of Cadiz have been a place of vine cultivation and wine trade, even travelling to the American continent with the first navigators. A deep-rooted heritage that has been transmitted for generations until reaching our days.

Today, one of the highest quality specialtiies is brandy, which in the municipality ofLa Palma del Condado, the geographic centre of the region, reaches the degree of delicatessen. There are numerous wineries that are dedicated to making and ageing wine in the traditional way, in oak barrels, at the same time as organising open days at their facilities for all those interested in discovering the fascinating world of wine and enjoying its delicate flavours.

The sweet touch of Huelva liquors

Just as exquisite are the liquors from the Huelva mountains. The towns ofSierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche boast having a rich gastronomy where Iberico Ham and spirits are two of their great protagonists. Fruits like cherries, blackberries and nuts are used to obtain 100% homemade liquors. It is even considered that some of them have medicinal properties to help fight pain and colic.

In addition, many of the typical sweets of the area, such as the cakes and doughnuts, have the special touch of these drinks, giving them a unique and special flavour that those with a sweet tooth will appreciate.
