Ermita del Cristo de las Misericordias

Facing the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la O on Calle Fray Baldomero González in Chipiona is this small chapel, which has been called Shrine to Christ of Divine Mercy since time immemorial. It is divided into two naves, one dedicated to worship and another accessed by an inner door which has also been used as a storeroom, with an interior courtyard which was recently covered over when a upper floor was built. Half of the ground floor corresponds to the Chapter House.

The structure of the façade has a door with a lintel and two semi-circular windows on the left; next to the door, you can see panels of tiles depicting Christ of Divine Mercy and the Virgen de la Soledad. There is a belfry with two bells over the entrance.

Christ of Divine Mercy occupies the central place on the altar, with the Virgen de la Soledad to his left and an image of Mary Magdalene to his right. The 17th-century carving of Christ of Divine Mercy is in cedar wood and the sculptor is anonymous.
