The aim of the Elephants of the Guadalquivir cultural route is to try to highlight the unquestionable contemporary hereditary value of the proposal for territorial modernisation through water control, improved agriculture and power production in the Guadalquivir Valley.

Following the natural course of the Guadalquivir River, the route starts upstream at the heart of the Sierra Morena in Jaén and, like the river, continues through the provinces of Cordoba and Seville. All along the route, through dams, hydroelectric plants, industries, towns and schools, the spirit of Andalusian modernity can be recognised.
