Playing golf in the desert or improving your swing while being caressed by the gentle breeze of the Mediterranean and the mountains are several of the secrets reserved in Almeria for fans of this sport.

In recent years, Almería has consolidated its position as a golfing destination among fans of this sport from around the world. Its annual records of sunny days and the feeling of practising your swing between sea and desert make this province the perfect destination for those looking for something different.

Here is a small sample of what this land hides within…

La Envía Golf Club

Situated at a wonderful sea viewpoint in the heart of the Sierra de Vicar, this course's 18 holes are set over one of the area's valleys.

The mountains that frame this course in both the east and west shelter it from the wind, creating ideal golfing conditions.

Stretching for more than 5,860 metres in total, with par 70, this course has an uneven relief with many bunkers and lakes that often require special skill and ability.

La Envía Golf also has a magnificent restaurant, which has become an obligatory stop for all players.

Sport and gastronomy come together here to provide the cherry on top of an impeccable day.

Aguilón Golf

Situated in Pulpí, near the coast, Aguilón Golf is defined by its spectacular design.

With more than 100 bunkers, 6 large lakes and many ravinesAguilón Golf has managed to perfectly integrate itself with the stunning landscape.

The course lies between the notable mountains of the Sierra Aguilón and Pulpí Bay.

Its design, with unique holes, makes this recently opened course a tempting challenge for players of all levels.

Playa Serena Golf

With 18 holes, Playa Serena has been catalogued as the flattest golf course in Spain.

The course is comfortable and has been the venue for several events on the Spanish and European circuits.

Its main difficulty lies in its long holes and how the greens are designed with slopes and surrounded by water features and bunkers.

With 9 lakes, the course is long and rich in water. In fact, there is a water obstacle on 12 of its 18 holes.

One of the most important holes that will have an impact on the player's final score is the thirteenth. Known as "the round-breaker", this is a highly challenging par 5.

Desert Springs Golf

Inspired by the famous deserts of Arizona and California, Desert Springs occupies land in the far east of Andalusia in the heart of the Valle de Almanzora.

Its emerald-green fairways are located between enormous rock formations, streams and dry riverbeds.

Its impeccably kept holes and "desert springs" contrast with the arid landscape of cacti, rocks and desert and the nearby mountains.

At any time of year, playing on this course is truly spectacular.

The vegetation covering large areas adds excitement to playing for both beginners and professional players.

Without doubt, this place is very different to any of the other courses you can enjoy in Europe.

Club Marina Golf Mojácar

The Marina Golf Mojácar course is a new and interesting course in eastern Almeria, bathed by the Mediterranean Sea, with an extraordinary location between Garrucha and Mojácar, and divided into two parts.

One part of the course is dominated by a hill that offers wonderful views of the sea and farmlands.

It has 18 holes, par 72, and three lakes, located within the 'Marina de la Torre' residential area.

Do you accept the challenge? See you there!
