Hiking, canyoning, fishing, horse riding, mountain biking… What will you choose?

Discovering the area's forest activity

We start this exciting journey into one of the most outstanding natural areas in Spain from Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas Natural Park Tourist Information Centre, where you can find all kinds of information related to the park, including routes, establishments and interesting exhibitions, such as the one you can see at La Madera Interpretation Centre in Vadillo Castril, within the municipal area of Cazorla.

This centre, which was opened 2014, hosts an exhibition that highlights the value of the cultural heritage as well as the ecological legacy of the forest activity undertaken in these mountains. The CICUM experience doesn't finish here, as a few metres away you will find a signposted route via which you can discover the town, its people and, in particular, the area's tangible and intangible heritage.

Collado del Almendral Hunting Park

In the town of Hornos you will find Collado del Almendral Hunting Park, an impressive natural space where valuable species can be seen in astate of semi-freedom. The area can be visited by tourist train over an itinerary 5 kilometres long during which visitors will have the chance to see species like wild fallow deer and mountain goats in semi-freedom.

There is another walking route available, running for 1.5 kilometres, which includes a stop at two viewpoints overlooking El Tranco Reservoir. While on this route, you can observe more than 60 varieties of Mediterranean flora.

Bosques del Sur Trail

If you're into hiking, make sure you check out the Bosques del Sur Trail, the longest circular hiking route in Spain, which runs for 500 kilometres and takes you to the sources of the Guadalquivir and Segura rivers. This is a spectacular trail that winds between mountainous peaks where you will see forests, crystal-clear waters, valleys, gorges, castles and historic sites of great value.
