Sol y Playa I_love_Cádiz.jpg

It is so easy to fall in love with Cadiz, it is love at first sight – it will seduce you and captivate you, making you feel nostalgic and wanting to return.

Cadiz will make you fall in love with its light, the deep blue Atlantic Ocean, the fine golden sand, the green fields and white villages in the mountains, its friendly people and delicious food. Discover the corners of Cadiz that will win your heart and tickle your senses.

Vejer de la Frontera, a picturesque Andalusian village

Very close to unspoilt beaches you can find Vejer, a walled town where the old windmills and towers overlooking the village and the valley will captivate you. You can enjoy stunning views from every corner and terrace, with its cube-shaped houses, stepped like the terrain.

Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans and Moors, the old settlers of Vejer de la Frontera, were the creators of the picturesque character and typical Andalusian features of this beautiful white village.

You can enjoy stunning views from every corner and terrace, with its cube-shaped houses, stepped like the terrain.

Plaza de España, also known as Plaza del Pescaítos is the centre of Vejer where you can sample delicious local tapas and dishes on the terraces.

If you walk down the streets, you won't miss Arch of Las Monjas, a beautiful place that frames the whitewashed houses and the blue sky of Vejer. The romantic side of Andalusia lies in places like these.

he magic of Baelo Claudia and Bolonia Beach

Only 14 km from Tarifa, you can find an incredibly beautiful and completely unspoilt area, a whim of nature that is called Bolonia. Its beauty today did not go unnoticed by the Romans – the remains of a Roman city called Baelo Claudia are preserved here.

The ruins of the Roman city hold the secrets of what went on at that time, with strong connections to the sea. Remains of the canning industry can also be found.

A few metres from the ruins you will find one of the most beautiful beaches in Cadiz. A haven of peace and tranquillity and incomparable beauty, with its amazing dune, that has been designated a National Monument. You can't miss climbing up it and taking a photo to prove you were at this magical place.

Its natural pools and crystal-clear waters await you – take a refreshing dip and relax as you look at the horizon, where you can see the silhouette of Africa, and you might even spot the famous mountains Atlas Mountains.

The dunes and Valdevaqueros Beach

If you go along the road that crosses the great dune of Valdevaqueros in Tarifa you'll feel like you're in the middle of the desert. Walls of sand at either side, caressed by the wind as they climb up to the top.

From the top you can see the 4-kilometre Valdevaqueros Beach, with its fine golden sand. When the east wind blows, these natural surroundings come alive with the bright colours of kites flying in the sky.

The ideal place to relax… Just close your eyes and feel the breeze on your skin and the smell of the sea. It will be a very special moment!

La Breña Nature Reserve

Another stunning place is La Breña Nature Reserve, with spectacular "balconies" – cliffs that jut out between the thick pine trees and afford amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean.

The ocean breeze carries the strong scent of pine along the paths.

Attractive beaches with crystal-clear waters emerge between the green pines and junipers, which will invite you to tread on the golden, unspoilt sand.

Los Caños de Meca and Trafalgar

Amongst the pines in La Breña Nature Reserve there are natural windows that open up to Los Caños de Meca and Trafalgar Cape. The charm and magical atmosphere of Los Caños increases as we move towards the lighthouse.

An incredibly beautiful place where you can enjoy idyllic secluded beaches, which are often completely empty.

Nature at its best!

The Jerez Horse Fair

In May, Jerez de la Frontera holds its most popular festival: the Horse Fair, declared of International Tourist Interest. Over a few days, the González Hontoria Park comes alive with thousands of colourful lights and becomes a temporary city of marquees.

For one week Jerez lives a celebration where you can enjoy sherry, the magic of flamenco and a spectacular Horse Parade.

The talent of the people and the beauty and elegance of the horses can be enjoyed at the continuous parade of horsemen, horsewomen and harnessing, one of the most attractive and genuine parts of this fair. Don't miss the next fair!

The caracter and charm of Cadiz and Los Campos del Sur

Explore the colonial-style avenues and streets in El Pópulo district, Plaza de las Flores square and the market. Walk down Los Campos del Sur and feel the sand between your toes in La Caleta Beach.

La Caleta Beach is where things have happened in real life – it was a natural port where Roman, Carthaginian and Phoenician boats used to anchor – and it has also been a setting for fiction, as many films have been shot here.

The colonial style of Nuestra Señora de La Palma y del Real Spa takes us back in time and we can recall the loves scenes in a James Bond film that was filmed here.

Cadiz tastes of the sea, of wild bluefin tuna, fried fish, tapas, prawn omelette, prawns, pork scratchings and "regañás" bread sticks... There will never be a shortage of Fino, Manzanilla and Oloroso sherries from Jerez de la Frontera.

Everywhere you go you'll be able to enjoy delicious tapas made with seafood and typical local produce. Bon appetit!

The sunset in Zahara de los Atunes

You'll be captivated by the sunset in Cadiz and Zahara de los Atunes.

The sun goes down on the horizon and disappears into the sea, painting the blue sky with a range of red, orange and pink hues... a magical moment to enjoy with someone special. You'll never forget it!

Cadiz wants to seduce you and share these secret places with you. The people, the light, the flavours and smells, its art and soul… All these things will captivate you. Fancy coming to see it for yourself?
